Present Perfect Continuous Tense

What It Is:

We use the Present Perfect Continuous Tense to talk about an action that started in the past and is still continuing — or has just stopped but we can see the result.

Formula:

Subject + has/have + been + verb + ing

👉 Has been → with he, she, it, singular nouns
👉 Have been → with I, we, you, they, plural nouns

Examples:

• I have been studying English for two hours.

• She has been working here since 2020.

• They have been waiting for the bus since morning.

• You have been improving a lot these days!

Common Time Words:

• since

• for

• all day / all week

• lately / recently
